Internal Access to POWER Library E-Resources
Should not be prompting for a library card number!

POWER Library participants should have direct, unmediated access to the e-resources when inside a library or school. If users are being prompted for a library card number when inside your institution, please contact HSLC so we can help you resolve this issue. The most likely culprit is that we need an IP address range. We find frequently that there are additional and/or updated IP address ranges that we need to enter into our authentication system for your institution. Obtaining your IP range information from your technology department and providing it when you contact us will frequently expedite resolving an internal access issue.

Occasionally we find that the correct links are not being used. To locate the unique List all/Help me choose, POWER Kids, and POWER Teens links for your institution, please visit the Links Generator.

Please note that when accessing the e-resources remotely, from home or another location, users will indeed need an eCard or library card number unless your school district participates in Single Sign-On (SSO). Interested in SSO? Learn more about platforms, eligibility requirements, and more in the POWER Library for Librarians.

Here Are a Couple of Tips for Troubleshooting Your Statistics Gathering Efforts!
We occasionally hear about odd occurrences from libraries trying to run statistical reports. Here are a few tips that might help:
  • Use your browsers incognito mode to access reports websites.
  • Clear your history/cache.
  • Try an alternate web browser. For example, if you are experiencing issues using Google Chrome, try the Microsoft Edge browser.
