Over 3,700 Authors Added To Contemporary Authors!
Over 3,700 authors were added to the Contemporary Authors e-resource, joining the more than 160,000 already included! Check out the list of newly added authors!

This e-resource includes biographical and bibliographical information on novelists, poets, playwrights, nonfiction writers, print and broadcast journalists, editors, photojournalists, syndicated cartoonists, scriptwriters, and screenwriters.

For each author entry, you may find content for the following topics available:
  • Personal Information
  • Career Information
  • Awards
  • Writings
  • Media Adaptions
  • A Descriptive Essay about the Author
  • Further Readings

E-Resources Available for Academic Institutions
There are 4 e-resources that the Office of Commonwealth Libraries/PA Dept. of Education owns or is contractually permitted to enable access to for academic institutions that participate in POWER Library. Authenticated access is available for the following e-resources:
  • Auto Repair Source (contractually permitted)
  • Contemporary Authors (content owned in perpetuity)
  • EBSCO E-Books (content owned in perpetuity)
  • Small Engine Repair Reference Center (contractually permitted)
