Fall Virtual Training Registration is Now Open!
The sessions, dates, and times are:

School Libraries + e-resources: Examining the How, When, Where, and Why for POWER Library e-resources Tools in the K-12 Classroom (1.5 hours CE/ACT 48 credits)
October 26, 2021  9:30am-11:00am
This session will dive into the tools for differentiated instruction available within the POWER Library e-resources to use in a K-12 learning environment.  We will take a look at the best ways to connect to the resources, where to find ready-made instructional materials for students, and more!  (Please note, this is an equal opportunity learning session and we will strive to provide content for elementary, middle, and high school libraries.)

Public Libraries + e-resources: Discover the How, When, Where, and Why for Utilizing POWER Library e-resources  (1.5 hours CE/ACT 48 credits)
October 27, 2021  9:30am-11:00am
Join us as we take a look at POWER Library e-resources useful to public libraries. Our discussion won’t stop at how to navigate these resources either!  We are taking a full circle look at not only the ‘how’ but the ‘when’ to use the resources, ‘where’ to find the best way to link to the resources, and ‘why’ your library should be promoting the resources.

Access PA, SHAREit, and ILL: Basics for the New, Seasoned, and In-Between (1.5 hours CE/ACT 48 credits)
October 28, 2021  9:30am-11:00am
We’re going retro, taking this one back to the key basic functionality of the SHAREit environment.  We will be discussing the Participant Record and the Request Manager in minute detail as well as general SHAREit workflows, lender and borrower reporting, and how to avoid the dreaded FOMO* by staying in the Access Pennsylvania communications loop.
*That’s “fear of missing out” for all us non-Generation Z folks!

Help Keep the Access PA Catalog Up-To-Date by Updating Your Holdings!
Each participating Access Pennsylvania institution is asked to update their holdings annually for inclusion in the Access Pennsylvania Catalog. This ensures the most up-to-date holdings are represented in the Access Pennsylvania Catalog.

Need training to complete your Profile and upload your holdings? Information on getting started with SHAREit training, completing and submitting your Profile Form, and uploading your holdings is available in the POWER Library - For Librarians.

Did You Get a Chance to Check Your E-Resource Links Yet?
Now that we are settling into the new school year, if you have not done so already it is a great time to check to ensure that your e-resource links are correct. Using the correct link helps to ensure access for the communities you serve!

Pro Tip: If you are inside your school you can test your internal access right from the Links Generator! Simply generate the links for your institution and click on the link. If you are not able to access the selected e-resource, please ask your I.T. staff for the external I.P. addresses in use for your institution and send us the information at support@hslc.org!

Did you know?
Most institutions link to the "List all" or "Help me choose" list of e-resources, but did you know you can link directly to an individual e-resource? Every e-resource icon and link is available for your use on your website, Google site, LibGuide, etc. You can even share them in your blogs and social media posts!
