Attention K-12 Access Pennsylvania Participants!
To ensure uninterrupted ILL service for our other libraries, school participants in Access Pennsylvania were placed in Holiday Mode for the summer.

The system entered holiday for K-12 participants expired on 9/11/2022. Therefore, unless you have manually extended your institution’s holiday (in your Participant Record), your account is active and your library is an eligible lender.

As many of our schools do not necessarily log into their Access Pennsylvania SHAREit account every day, we recommend activating Staff Notices in your account. This will trigger an email from SHAREit every time your institution is being prompted to respond to a request and keep you from having to log in and check your Request Manager unnecessarily.

How do I do that, you ask? Just follow these steps:
  1. Log into your library’s SHAREit account
  2. On the staff dashboard, go to the ILL Admin menu
  3. Click on “Participant Record”
  4. In your Participant Record, choose “Staff Notices”
5. At the “Staff Notification Setup,” enter the email(s) of the individuals you’d like to receive the notifications. If there is more than one person, separate the email addresses with a semi-colon. Make sure, if you want them, you enter the email address(s) for both “Borrower emails” and “Lender emails.”
6. Don’t forget 😊 to choose which of the notifications you’d like to receive.
Here’s to a fantastic year!

Did You Confirm That Your
E-Resource Links Are Correct?
Make sure you test ALL the POWER Library links on your website from inside your school.

Are you being prompted for a barcode number inside your school? Contact your IT department for your current public/external IP address or range as well as any additional public IP addresses including load balancers, backups, cloud filters, separate wireless or student device networks, etc. (Don’t worry if you don’t understand what all that means – they will. 😊) Please let us know!

Are you seeing another type of access issue? Check to make sure that you’re using your school-specific links, available via the Links Generator. If updating the links doesn’t solve the problem, please let us know!

Does your school use SSO to access POWER Library? Test authentication from both inside and outside of the school building. If one or both isn’t working, please let us know!

Looking to make it easier for your students to access POWER Library e-resources from home? Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication is now available for school districts using Google or Clever as their SSO platform.

No more eCards or library cards!
SSO eliminates the need for students to enter a library card or eCard number.
What will it cost my school to make SSO available?
For public school districts, there will be no separate fee to add SSO authentication. However, each school in your district must participate in POWER Library. For private schools, there is a small annual fee to add SSO authentication.
