Gale OneFile News Continues in POWER Library!

The recent procurement announcement about new and continuing e-resources indicated that the POWER Library subscription to Gale OneFile News was cancelled. However, under a separate procurement effort, the Office of Commonwealth Libraries has approved the return of Gale OneFile News in POWER Library. Since Gale OneFile News was cancelled, it is not currently available in POWER Library. HSLC is working with Gale to resume access. Look for access to be restored to accounts beginning in September. If you are not able to access Gale OneFile News by September 15, please contact HSLC support.

About Gale OneFile News
Gale OneFile: News provides access to more than 2,300 major U.S. regional, national, and local newspapers, as well as leading titles from around the world. It also includes thousands of images, radio and TV broadcasts, and transcripts.

New eCard Registration System

The eCard registration system has been upgraded to a new system that requires all eCard users to register for a new eCard.

Please note that PA residents with a local public library card do not need an eCard.

The deadline to obtain a new ecard has been extended to September 30, 2023.

Important notes:

  • Patrons with a library card issued by their local library do not need an eCard.
  • Do not share an eCard number with students or post an eCard number to Google Classrooms, etc. Doing either is a violation of the license agreements.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) is available for schools that use Clever, Google, or ClassLink. To learn more about SSO, please visit:
