Birth, Marriage, and Death Records in MyHeritage

Birth, marriage, and death records, sometimes referred to as vital records, are invaluable to your genealogy search. Since they were typically recorded around the time of the event they are often considered more accurate than other types of records. These records include information like the event date and place, parents' names, occupation, and residence.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Please note that you must log in to an e-resource using your local library card number or eCard number.

Artificial Intelligence and You: The Promise and Perils of Technology by Corona Brezina

Most people associate artificial intelligence with IBM's Deep Blue playing chess against a world champion or Watson winning a Jeopardy competition, but AI is becoming a part of everyday life. This volume explores the applications of cutting-edge AI technology, incorporating examples particularly relevant to teens. It is used in facial recognition software in social media platforms, digital assistants on mobile devices, and fraud detection related to financial transactions. Autonomous vehicles and smart power grids are in development. The potential drawbacks of artificial intelligence, such as loss of jobs, privacy concerns, and bias in algorithms are also examined.

Artificial Intelligence: Building Smarter Machines by Stephanie Sammartino McPherson

In 2011 a computer named Watson outscored two human competitors on the TV quiz show Jeopardy! and snagged the million-dollar prize. Watson isn't the only machine keeping up with humans. The field of artificial intelligence (AI) is booming, with drones, robots, and computers handling tasks that once only humans could perform. Such advances raise challenging questions. Do Watson and other computers really think? Can machines acquire self-awareness? Is AI a promising or a dangerous technology? No machine, not even Watson, yet comes close to matching human intelligence, but many scientists believe it is only a matter of time before we reach this milestone. What will such a future look like?

Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences and Psychology: With Application of Machine Language, Computer Vision, and NLP Techniques by Tshepo Chris Nokeri

Get started with artificial intelligence for medical sciences and psychology. This book will help healthcare professionals and technologists solve problems using machine learning methods, computer vision, and natural language processing (NLP) techniques. The book covers ways to use neural networks to classify patients with diseases. You will know how to apply computer vision techniques and convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to segment diseases such as cancer (e.g., skin, breast, and brain cancer) and pneumonia. The hidden Markov decision-making process is presented to help you identify hidden states of time-dependent data. In addition, it shows how NLP techniques are used in medical records classification. This book is suitable for experienced practitioners in varying medical specialties (neurology, virology, radiology, oncology, and more) who want to learn Python programming to help them work efficiently. It is also intended for data scientists, machine learning engineers, medical students, and researchers.
