Are you looking to make it easier for your students to access POWER Library e-resources from home? Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication is now available for school districts using ClassLink, Clever, or Google as their SSO platform.

No more eCards or library cards!
SSO eliminates the need for students to enter library card or eCard numbers.

What will it cost my school to make SSO available?
There is no additional fee to add SSO authentication for public school districts. However, every school in the district must participate in POWER Library. Private schools will be assessed a small annual fee to add SSO authentication.

Access PA "Not Received/Overdue" Issue - Fix Scheduled For This Evening

Libraries have experienced an issue this week with items going into “not received/overdue” status and SHAREit not allowing staff to change the status of the item.

Auto-Graphics discovered a coding defect that’s causing the issue, and the defect is scheduled to be fixed this evening.

Unless you are an NCIP installation...
For NCIP libraries, please know that Auto-Graphics is still isolating the code that needs to be updated. The solution is more complex due to the communication between SHAREit and Evergreen. We will provide an update as soon as we receive notice from Auto-Graphics.

In the meantime, if/when you run into this issue, please contact HSLC Support to log the issue and we will manually go in and update the status for you. Please include the request number(s) in your ticket to ensure accuracy.

Thanks to everyone who reported the issue and provided use cases to pass to Auto-Graphics.

POWER Library/Access PA Annual Technology Support Fee Notice

The technology support fee will remain the same for 2024-25.

Invoices will be distributed in April of 2024.

What are the cost-savings of participating in POWER Library?
Statewide contracts for POWER Library resources are paid by the Pennsylvania Department of Education/Office of Commonwealth Libraries.  In turn, your school or library benefits by not having to purchase these databases from local funds.

  • It would cost a school $56,515 to subscribe to all of the e-resources in POWER Library on their own.
  • It would cost a public library $73,366 to subscribe to all of the e-resources in POWER Library on their own.

In addition to cost-savings, participants are provided with enhanced support, training, and custom programming for access to the e-resources.
