Having Students Register for E-Cards?
Please review before having students register for E-Cards.
Accessing POWER Library INSIDE your school:

  • Is your institution a K-12 POWER Library participant? If yes, then your students should be able to get right into the e-resources when inside your school using either I.P. (for all participants) or Single Sign-On (SSO) for SSO participants. If you are prompted for a library card number inside your school, please contact support. Interested in learning more about SSO? Learn more in the For Librarians Hub.

  • If your institution is not a K-12 POWER Library participant, your students will need a library card issued by their local public library or an E-Card.
Accessing POWER Library from HOME or other REMOTE locations:

  • Is your institution a K-12 POWER Library participant who does not participate in Single Sign-On? Your students will need a library card issued by their local public library or an E-Card.

  • If your institution is not a K-12 POWER Library participant, your students will need a library card issued by their local public library or an E-Card.
Having students register for E-Cards?
Important notes:
  • Every user must have their own card number. Please note that the licensing agreements with POWER Library e-resource vendors (EBSCO, GALE, etc.) require that each individual uses their own E-Card. Please do not share E-Card numbers.

  • Does your school allow emails from outside domains? If your students use an email issued by the school and your school does not allow emails from outside domains, then students will not receive their confirmation emails. It will be necessary to ask your I.T. to allow emails from help@powerlibrary.org or for students to use an alternate email address (@gmail, @yahoo, etc.)
The E-Card registration system uses a residency verification system, and it is very important that registrants know the following information when submitting the registration form:
  • Parent/guardian email address
  • Parent/guardian first and last name
  • Home address
  • Minor's email address

Find E-Resources
Single Sign-On for Remote Access is available for ClassLink, Clever, and Google!
Looking to make it easier for your students?
Looking to make it easier for your students to access POWER Library E-Resources from home? Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication is now available for school districts using ClassLink, Clever, or Google as their SSO platform.

No more E-Cards or library cards!
SSO eliminates the need for students to enter library card or E-Card numbers.

What will it cost my school to make SSO available?
There is no additional fee to add SSO authentication for public school districts. However, every school in the district must participate in POWER Library. Private schools will be assessed a small annual fee to add SSO authentication.
