The Wagner Free Institute of Science has added the collection Engineering 2: Civil Engineering Structures to PA Photos and Documents!
This collection consists of glass lantern slides and syllabuses for the course “Civil Engineering Structures,” taught at the Wagner Free Institute of Science between 1893 and 1950. It was the second in a series of four courses in Civil Engineering, developed by Samuel Tobias Wagner. The course focused mainly on bridges but also included lectures on foundations, masonry construction, framing in wood and steel, and metallic building construction. It includes many images of the construction of Philadelphia area bridges.
