Access to E-Books To Be Streamlined!
One e-book platform to rule them all!
Beginning July 8th, the E-Book Collection will be the single access point for all e-books previously found in EBSCO E-Books, GALE E-Books, and ProQuest E-Book Central.
The individual platforms will no longer appear separately on POWER Library’s List All, By Subject, or POWER Teens pages. Instead, all content will be accessed through the E-Book Collection e-resource.

What does this mean for your institution?
If you currently provide direct links to EBSCO E-Books, GALE E-Books, or ProQuest E-Book Central on your website, LMS, or other platforms, you may continue to do so.

Do you need to take any action?
No. The POWER Library List All, By Subject, and POWER Teens pages will update automatically to remove EBSCO E-Books, GALE E-Books, and ProQuest E-Book Central.

What is the benefit of consolidating access?
With the enhanced access to e-books now implemented through the E-Book Collection e-resource, users can now discover and access the e-books available in those collections in one place.

E-Resources
You might need to update your library's website.
Effective July 1st, the following E-Resources will be removed from POWER Library:
  • Academic Search Main Edition (EBSCO)
  • Cricket Media E-Books (EBSCO)
  • TrueFLIX (Scholastic)
Academic Search Main Edition is being replaced by Academic OneFile Select (GALE), which has already been available in POWER Library for most of 2025. To help address the loss of Cricket Media E-Books and TrueFLIX, additional e-books focused on history and biography will be acquired from GALE later this year and added to the E-Book Collection.

What does my library need to do?
If your library provides direct links to any of the discontinuing E-Resources on your website, learning management platform, etc., you will need to remove those E-Resources.

Links to the E-Resource List All, By Subject, POWER Kids, and POWER Teens websites will automatically be updated.

Notifying Users
Notices have been added to each discontinued e-resource on POWER Library.
