It used to be that if a library was in Holiday Mode, no lender requests would show up in your Request Manager during the closure period. With recent changes to the lender list build process, SHAREit now determines that if the library’s Holiday Mode period will end with at least ONE DAY left in the “days to respond” to respond to a request, it will still send that request to them — SHAREit is now erring on the side of potential fulfillment, rather than outrightly skipping the lender. Add to that a second change - SHAREit now counts the first full day AFTER the request is put in the lender’s Pending file as “Day One” — it used to count “Day One” as the day the request arrived, even if it was 8PM. NOTE: The default “Days to respond” for the cooperative is FOUR days EXCLUDING SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. So it’s now possible that a loan request will show up in your Request Manager even while your library is in Holiday Mode. Further, this could potentially happen several days before your Holiday Mode end date. This does not mean you are expected to fill the request while you are in Holiday Mode! Further, you do not need to make any changes to your workflow as far as responding to those requests; all the old rules and best practices remain the same.
