Access to the E-Resources in POWER Library is

Free with your PA library card or E-Card!

Whether it’s a curious kindergartener or a high schooler tackling a big assignment, POWER Library offers resources that grow with students at every stage of their learning journey.

Curiosity Starts Here
Britannica School PreK–5 helps children take their first steps into research with articles written just for young learners, colorful images, and fun interactive features. It’s designed to spark curiosity and encourage kids to explore safely and confidently.
Activity Idea: Choose a favorite animal, use Britannica to learn three new facts about it, and then draw a picture or share those facts with the family.

Middle school students often face more complex assignments, and this resource helps them rise to the challenge. With access to trusted articles, images, and multimedia across science, history, geography, and literature, students can learn how to compare sources and build stronger reports.
Activity Idea: Research a current environmental issue (like renewable energy or endangered species) and create a one-page “fact sheet” using articles and multimedia found in the resource.

High schoolers can sharpen their research and critical thinking skills with this comprehensive collection of journals, newspapers, magazines, and reference works. Perfect for in-depth essays or projects, this resource helps students back up their arguments with credible evidence.
Activity Idea: Choose a debate topic—such as climate change, technology in society, or government policy—and gather at least three credible sources from the resource to build a strong, evidence-based argument.
